My daughter was at a birthday party for two hours so I decided to grab lunch. Ginza Sushi was near by so decided to try it. It was in the middle of the day so the restaurant was not too busy. I was seated right away and took my time browsing through the menu. I decided on the Crazy Mango Roll and Otoro on the Rock. The mango roll was delicious as expected but that otoro? Premium bluefin tuna belly. That was how do you say it, chef's kiss. The slices were huge and literally melted in my mouth. Definitely a splurge every and now and then. The restaurant size is small, just one room but looks big because of the high ceiling. They had a cute display area set up for Halloween in a corner. Service is super friendly and I did not feel rushed to order my food but they did come by to check up on me. Next door is a dessert place so I hopped on over right after lunch.
Came for the sushi and stayed for the Korean stews! the sushi is pretty generous in their size so not a bad deal! What I really fell in love with is their Korean food, I got sullangtang, a classic beef bone broth soup and it came out still BOILING and was SOO flavorful. I didn't think I could find this in north county!! We came back just 2 days later and I got the soondubu which was also very well done.
Another day, another visit to Ginza. Usually great service. Their specialty rolls are a little over the top for me (mostly because of the sauces), BUT we love their generous bento dinners and the more simple handrolls. It's a go-to for a quick dinner with the family when I am in town.
Another great meal at Ginza Sushi. We ordered the Nippon Festive and we weren't disappointed. It was amazing! Marcus and Veronica were very attentive and the entire restaurant was decorated in Christmas decor . A beautiful and delicious dinner!
I was craving a good California roll so my husband suggested Ginza. They have a wide variety. We decided to call in the order for pick up. The gentleman who took our order was very nice and knowledgeable of the items on the menu. Everything (3 types of California rolls, Teriyaki bento box & spicy tuna hand roll) we ordered was fresh and delicious! I'm very happy that I gave this place a try. I'll be back for sure.
We had another great meal here on Monday. Service is always fast and friendly and the portions are quite generous. We had bento boxes and sushi. Everything was fresh and delicious. This is our go to place in the Cambrian area. I can't recommend it more highly. They take is also quite good. Prices are average and parking is easy.
I suggested Ginza Sushi to another friend recently. We met up for lunch on a Tuesday at noon. There were only a few customers while we were there. My friend had the exact questions I had about the new menu, so she clarified for me so I didn't even have to ask our waiter. Even though the menu doesn't explicitly explain the way the lunch bento works, there are some visuals to help you see the different sections of items. Just select one item from each section. One of my friends had a Lunch Bento with sashimi and tempura. Another just had a Dragon Roll, and I had a 3-item bento lunch with Mixed Tempura, CA Roll, & Salmon Sashimi ($4 additional fee). I especially enjoyed the sashimi. Service was good, food came out quickly, and we all enjoyed our meals. Keeping my original 4-star review, thanks Ginza Sushi!
Originally we wanted to eat at Goku; but, we arrived later than normal. Saw that the wait was 54-75 minutes!! Thankfully, I was a fast-thinker and we headed to Ginza, which was a fab idea! The atmosphere was fun - lively with the tvs on (not too loud though) along with the decor. The service was on point! We were seated immediately, our drinks were put through quickly, and our food arrived in no time. Staff checked on us often but weren't intrusive. I loved the variety of the rolls and I especially loved the My roll - I don't eat white rice. I hope they add more non-rice rolls &/or add the option of brown rice... that will make this place even better for those with dietary needs. Def going back... I think we found our new sushi spot!!
